Race Off for the Playoffs

Lady Lion’s volleyball continued to carry their dream of playoffs with them, with the win against Round Rock on Friday, October 8th. “It was a big win, that we had to get due to being stuck in a three way tie with Round Rock and Pflugerville,” Ashley Atkinson, coach, said.

The volleyball team played well, losing the first game, but held it together and won the next three games at home, winning the series. “The girls did it very well, and played well without their starting middle, Jessica Corey,” Atkinson, said.

Jessica who was out due to a back injury she received at practice the night before, also missed the following game against McNeil when the team made an awesome comeback to win the final three games of the series, despite being down by two. Jessica made a quick and needed recovery and was able to play the next game.

Tuesday night, October 19th, the girls had an unfortunate loss against Georgetown and must win against Pflugerville to continue the road to playoffs. “Unfortunately, it’ll be the last game that decides playoff spots for us. The fans can help by coming out and cheering on their fellow students and friends,” Atkinson, said.

The Pflugerville game is a home game and will start Friday at 6:30pm in the competition gym. Come out and show support for the Lady Lions volleyball team. Keep on racin’ ladies!
